Primary Source " Post #2"

The Primary Source that I chose to work for this writing project is a video clip of The Daily Show by Jon Steward. However, the second source I chose didn’t like so much. Therefore I will change it and tried to find another source that is related to my writing topic possibly in next few days. The Video clip was published in August 28, 2011. The Video clip is about the social and economic difference among poor and rich people during these times. Jon tried to convey the audiences about complains that always cry out by the poor people are not mostly accurate. The Video clip was published to disapprove of the lower working class economic issues. The purpose of the Clip was that to support the rich people by saying that the lower working classes are comfortable financially and have everything they need. Finally the people or audience can understand this video clip as a satire to the lower working class and actually the video does not reflects the exact side of the working classes.

The source above is advertising a fast-food restaurant called “McDonald”, published by it’s company. The picture shows two sandwiches wrapped in McDonald’s wraps and prints words “Nice try, mom...” on the left top side. Additionally, the commercial also pastes it’s, saying McDonlad and I’m lovin in, logo on the right bottom side. The advertisement seems to mock mothers who make sandwich for their children. However, what the advertisement really attempts to say is that, even though all mothers in the world do they best to catch up or copy the tastes of the foods in McDonald, their children can distinguish the differences and still pick McDonald’s foods as the most attractive food for them. Thus, the advertisement labels people love McDonald because it possesses the most flavorful tastes. Furthermore, it also persuades people who haven’t tried it’s food to visit and grab the foods because everybody loves it!

Primary source paragraph

This advertisement has something to do with the Levi's one we did in class together. The Levi's company is trying to get you to buy their clothes. This was authored by ryan McGinley. This is a very obvious that they want you to buy their clothes because the girl is clearly not wearing a shirt. She is walking up a grassy hill. The thing that i've noticed it is really "country-like." Just liek the other Levi's advertisement we looked at. There is a pond and she is also really dirty. It has a lot o social class. They really get you to understand what the message is about by the girl not wearing a shirt. It's the first thing that popped out at me when i saw it. There is a quote that says "all i need, is all i got". To me this is sayin that she is happy with what she's got. That what she has on is all she's getting. Also with the girl not wearing a shirt makes you wanna check out their clothes to see what they have to offer. This is thier Go Forth log. I like i because the one we looked at in class had a guy in it, this one has a girl. The one with the guy was advertising guys collection and this one is advertising what they have for their women collection.

Jake Johnson Source Summary

My primary source is a speech given by our President Barrack Obama. For the paper I will be using a variety of speeches and articles by him, but for the purpose of this summary, i chose one that was given recently. John Boehner recently called one of his tax proposals “class warfare”, and in one of his most controversial speeches as president, he denied this claims calling it “math” not class warfare. The speech was given in front of the White House.with the purpose of essentially telling John Boehner “screw you”. That is the implicit message. of the speech. There were clearly other parts of the speech that were on different topics, acting as explicit sources about financial plans, goals etc. but it was essentially in response to comments made by Boehner. The message in this source is the underlying theme of class warfare playing a huge roll in our political debates today. The President and the Speaker of the House John Boehner only fuel this fire, by accusing each other of encouraging this warfare. I chose this speech because I have been following Obama for a long time, and I have felt for a while he played up the social classes as a meaning of defining people. I never really had heardthe phrase “class warfare” before this class, but when we started going into what exactly class warfare is, I was excited to be writing a paper about it, because I knew I would be able to use my interest in Obama’s speeches to write a paper about something that interests me.

Bogg# 2

Do you think the rank of a social class you are born with matters a lot more when you take a move forward from working class to upper class? Some may say it is ordinarily easy, while the majority does not accept it as true. If so, how can you break the wall to get into the rich’s compounds and be part of their society to live better? If there is a chance to change from class to class how can you make the transition? For me it is more important to talk about class warfare and the pessimistic impacts on individuals’ life outlooks. I will talk about the difference among economic and social status that always becomes individuals’ identities. Identities describe who you are as a member of a group of society and people can know you through your rank of your social class not merely as an individual. What causes anyone to be poorer or richer? This is what my primary source is going to be about. I will talk about world class warfare and social classes that are not the same across the world. The primary source is all about education, wealth, health and living and working to live better, to get all things easily on hand. I will also use my personal experience in different countries to talk about the primary source that I will going to discuss all about the issues of class warfare. I will get started to use surely that includes a video clip and article written by researchers who are highly qualified to their researches and who knows-how to craft up these things.

Jake Johnson Blog Post #2 (FINAL)

(This is the corrected post. The first one was not meant to be submitted yet)

Class warfare, and the large variety of social groups that our society has become based around, help shape the layout for politics, economics, and many other areas of life in the United States. The problem that has arisen is that those in positions of power use that power to increase the gap between different social groups.

One example of this that is prominent today is the welfare debate. Who should receive it, when they should receive it, how to pay for it when those people deserve more, where to pull the money from, who’s taxes to increase, etc. All of this creates a gap. You have the upper class, which does not approve of many of the plans because it will increase their own taxes, sending their hard earned money to some people who may not have worked very hard.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, you have the lower class, which sometimes have no option but to strive for welfare to help them get by on a daily basis. Some of this lower class is there because of unfortunate circumstance, and some of them are there because of laziness, drinking, drugs, etc. and that is where the debate really heats up, since no one wants their money going to people who will not use it to really help themselves. This is the most heated and well known battle being fought right now and is causing large amounts of hostility on either end, furthering the feelings of divide and separation.

Issues such as these develop the way I look for primary sources in that I look for sources that will give you a good description of both sides of the story. In many sources today, the story will be told from one end of the spectrum, knowing both sides of the issue is very important in ensuring that you are receiving quality information on the subject. It has driven me to look for a source that will give me the story and let me formulate my own opinion, not one where the opinion has already been made for me before I even know the other side of the issue.
