There are several things that I need to work on when progressing my paper into the next stage, and finalizing it. In my SSI, the concept was there, but as I go back and read over it, it is very unorganized, thoughts just thrown out there. I think the idea is there, it just needs to be tightened up and put into a more organized layout. Another thing I need to make sure I do when I work on developing my SSI, is to make a clearer thesis statement. This will provide readers with a better idea of where the paper is going to go. One of the main organizational problems with my SSI was that I went in two directions with the paper. It started out discussing one point, but then switched to another. I need to find sources that I can use to enhance or discuss the point I originally made, or switch my main point to the topic that my sources discussed in the way they were used. I think I have to reformat the whole paper, when I find other sources and speeches by Obama and Boehner. This will help make it easier to stretch it out to 8 pages because it will be adding in a lot more details and quotes, and giving more things to talk about and debate over. This shouldn’t be too hard, seeing as this topic doesn’t necessarily have a straight answer, it’s one that kind of is open to everyone’s interpretation.
